Derry Car Accident Leaves New Hampshire Man Injured

A Derry car accident involving at least two vehicles and a police chase leaves a man seriously injured after being ejected from his vehicle. The incident took place on Friday afternoon, April 15, 2011, along Route 28.

According to local police, a man was driving erratically while fleeing Londonderry police and slammed into a second vehicle along Route 28. The driver has been identified as Zachary Gloudemans, 28, of Concord, and reportedly forced several other vehicles off the road during the police chase.

Rescue crews transported Mr. Gloudemans to Parkland Medical Center where he was charged by Derry police with aggravated driving under the influence. He was later flown to Boston Medical Center and listed in critical condition. According to Derry police Captain, Vern Thomas, Mr. Gloudemans suffered "significant fractures" in the accident. It was unclear if anyone else was injured in the wreck.

Police have indicated that Mr. Gloudemans had two active warrants out for his arrest at the time of the accident.

The Derry car accident is still under investigation by local authorities. Police have indicated that they intend to pursue motor-vehicle charges against Mr. Gloudemans.
