Vermont Car Accident Injures Two

Posted on Apr 30, 2009

A recent head on collision in Mount Tabor injured two people.  The accident occurred when the driver of a Nissan Altima crossed the center-line and headed straight for an oncoming car.

The Altima was driven by Dennis Sverduk of Manchester.  By crossing over the center-line Sverduk struck the Ford Taurus driven by Margaret Moyer of West Rutland.

Sverduk had to be removed from his vehicle after it struck the other car, turned over and landed on its side in a grassy area off the northbound lane of Route 7 near Troll Hill Road.

Severduk received extensive injuries including a broken left wrist, bruised left shoulder and cuts to his legs.  He was treated at Southwestern Medical Center.  According to Vermont State Police, Moyer was taken to Rutland Regional Medical Center with a bruised chest.  Neither was reported to have serious head injuries.

Fortunately both drivers were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident.  In neighboring New Hampshire legislation is currently being reviewed by the state Senate that would make driving without a seatbelt illegal for adults.  Currently only minors are required to wear seatbelts at all times.

If you have been hurt in a car accident and need help please contact a lawyer at Van Dorn & Curtiss today.  Located in New Hampshire, the attorneys at Van Dorn & Curtiss represent clients from New Hampshire, Vermont and states across New England.
