OSHA Levies Fines After Construction Accident
According to the Associated Press the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has proposed $31,000 in fines against a Boston roofing company.
Reliable Roofing & Sheet Metal LLC was fined after a truck carrying a bucket lift toppled and crashed into a building, killing one worker and seriously injuring another. The construction accident occurred in Boston, Ma.
According to OSHA’s regional director, Brenda Gordon, better training and inspection would have identified defects in the equipment and prevented the fall.
As is standard, Reliable Roofing has 15 days to contest the fines.
