The Bigger Story
One of the first things we ask a potential new client is "Tell us
your story." We want to know about the accident. We want to know
why you've come to us. We need to establish if someone was negligent
and to assess the damages done. But, this story is part of a larger story.
This larger story is personal. There's a hero and perhaps his or her
family or supporting cast. You've been hurt in some way, perhaps in
an automobile accident or in a pet attack and have suffered much before
coming to talk to us. We listen to what life was like for you and your
family before the accident. We try to imagine what life is like for you
now and what life will be like in the future. We wonder what our role
could be in your story. We acknowledge that our part is a small but important
role. But it's not until we understand the hero's story fully
that we act. And sometimes, we have to acknowledge that there is nothing
we can do. But we won't know until we hear your story.
