Construction Accident Causes Workers Death
A construction site at the Longwood at Oakmont retirement community is the site of an ongoing OSHA investigation. A 29-year-old man was killed while working in a building. The building was under construction at the time.
The victim, Yamil Gonzalez, was moving a piece of machinery on the fourth floor of the building when a crane hit the floor above him. The concrete floor was broken by the crane and fell on the construction worker.
Gonzales was pronounced dead at the scene. He was a subcontractor with P&B Partitions of West Berlin, N.J.
Both local police and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) are currently investigating the tragic accident.
