Bedford Car Accident at Toll Booth Sends One to Hospital
A Bedford car accident involving two vehicles sends one person to local hospital after a driver loses control of his vehicle at a local toll booth. The incident took place at approximately 8:30 AM on Monday morning, December 13, 2010, at the Bedford Toll on the F.E. Everett Turnpike North.
According to New Hampshire state police, the driver of a 2008 Chevy Malibu made an unsafe lane change at the Bedford Toll and slammed into a 2010 Honda Accord. The force of the impact sent the Chevy onto the lane 3 concrete barrier. However, the actual toll booth was not struck.
The driver of the Chevy Malibu has been identified as Nashua resident Wayne Mulligan. Rescue crews transported Mr. Mulligan to Southern New Hampshire Medical Center where he was treated for injuries and later released. Details concerning his injuries were not immediately made available.
It was unclear if the driver of the second vehicle, Jose Oliveras, also of Nashua, sustained any injuries as a result of the crash.
The two-vehicle Bedford car accident is still under investigation by local authorities. Mr. Mulligan was cited for making an unsafe lane change.
This is an unfortunate incident and we wish both victims a speedy recovery during this difficult time.
