Bennington Car Accident Claims the Life of a Woman

A Bennington car accident involving a single vehicle claims the life of a woman after the vehicle she was driving lost control and slid on its roof into a grassy median. The incident took place at approximately 5:00 PM on Saturday evening, November 27, 2010, along Route 7.

According to Bennington Police, the driver of a 2000 GMC sport utility vehicle (SUV) lost control of her vehicle while driving northbound on Route 7. Preliminary reports indicate that the vehicle began to slide as it crossed a bridge and left the roadway, turned upside down, and came to a rest on a grassy median.

The driver of the SUV has been identified as Lancelee J. Trimm, 21, of Hoosick Falls. Unfortunately, she lost her life as a result of the accident.

Rescue crews transported the unidentified female passenger to Southwestern Vermont Medical Center where she was treated for unspecified injuries sustained in the crash.

The fatal Bennington auto accident is still under investigation by local authorities. Police believe that slippery road conditions to due recent snow showers may have contributed to the accident.

This is a terrible tragedy and we would like to extend our thoughts and condolences to everyone that has been affected by the crash.
