1 Killed, 1 Injured in Brookline Accident

A Brookline car accident took the life of one teenage New Hampshire girl, and injured another. The accident occurred late Saturday night.

18-year-old Abigail Yandell was killed when she lost control of her Toyota Rav 4, and crashed into a tree on the side of Old Milford Road just south of Kodiak Road in Brookline.

Her passenger, 18-year-old Airielle Ramirez, climbed up an embankment on the side of the road, and flagged down another car for help. Emergency vehicles were then called to the scene.

Yandell, the driver, was later pronounced dead at St. Joseph's Hospital in Nashua. Ramirez was taken to Southern New Hampshire Regional Medical Center, where she was treated for injuries that are not life threatening.

Police executed a search warrant the next day at a nearby boarding school, citing another teen student as a person of interest. It is still unclear what connection exists between the student and the accident.

Brookline police said they are still investigating the crash, and it is not yet known if drugs and alcohol were involved. Old Brookline Road was closed for a few hours on Sunday while New Hampshire State Police reconstructed the accident.

Our condolences go out to all the people affected by this fatal wreck.
