Barrington Car Accident Claims Life of Rochester Man

A Barrington car accident involving three vehicles, including a Waste Management garbage truck, claims the life of one man and sends another to a local hospital. The incident took place at approximately 3:00 PM on Monday afternoon, October 18, 2010, along Route 12.

According to police, the incident occurred when a man driving a 2007 Saturn crossed the center line while attempting to pass another car on Route 12 and slammed into a Waste Management garbage truck. The driver of the Saturn has been identified as Nathan Pappalardo, 26, of Rochester. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

Rescue crews transported the Waste Management garbage truck driver, Ronald Carruth, 52, of Strafford, to Frisbie Memorial Hospital where he was treated for injuries sustained in the collision. His injuries have been described as non-life threatening.

The fatal car accident is still under investigation by the Barrington Police, as well as the Strafford County Regional Accident Reconstruction Team. There were no details immediately given concerning the third vehicle.
