A Hampton Falls car accident involving two vehicles claims the lives of both drivers after their vehicles collide head-on. The incident took place at approximately 5:00 PM on Monday evening, September 27, 2010, along Interstate 95.
According to New Hampshire State Police, Cheryl White, 49, of Smith Road, Rockport, was traveling southbound on I-95 in a 1998 Honda Civic when a northbound 1994 Chevy pickup truck crossed the grassy median and plowed into her car head-on.
Rescue crews transported Ms. White to Anna Jacques Hospital in Newburyport, Mass., where she was treated for critical injuries sustained in the accident. She was eventually taken to Beth Israel Hospital in Boston where she was pronounced the following Friday.
Ms. White suffered “multiple trauma injuries and was barley conscious” when rescue crews arrived on the scene, said Seabrook N.H. Fire Chief Jeff Brown.
The driver of the pickup truck has been identified as Leon Bishop, 23,
of Portsmouth. Mr. Bishop was thrown from the vehicle and pronounced dead
at the scene of the accident.
The fatal Hampton Falls auto accident is still under investigation by local authorities. It was unclear as to what caused Mr. Bishop’s pickup truck to cross the grassy median.
