Henniker Car Accident Claims the Life of East Lyme Man
A Henniker car accident involving a single vehicle claims the life of a man after the car he was traveling in slams into a tree. The New Hampshire accident took place at approximately 11:00 PM on Friday evening, October 8, 2010, along Weare Road.
According to local police, Matthew Kelleher, 22, of Ashland, Mass., lost control of the vehicle he was driving along Weare Road and slammed into a tree. The force of the impact broke the vehicle in two.
Mr. Kelleher was trapped in the vehicle and had to be extricated by rescue crews. He was transported to Concord Hospital where he was treated for injuries sustained in the accident. He was listed in fair condition.
His passenger, Dana M. Poole of East Lyme, Conn., wasn’t so lucky. He was thrown from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
The Henniker car accident is still under investigation by local authorities. It was unclear as to what caused Mr. Kelleher to lose control of the vehicle.
