Stratton Car Accident Sends Two to a Local Hospital
A Stratton car accident involving three vehicles sends two people to a local hospital after the vehicles collide along Mountain Road near Bear Creek Road. The incident took place after 5:00 PM on Saturday evening, February 5, 2011.
According to Vermont State Police, a 2003 Subaru Forrester driven by Vladlen Kurzov, 36, of Bayonne, New Jersey, was traveling southbound along Mountain Road when he lost control of his vehicle. His vehicle sideswiped a northbound vehicle driven by David Mooney Jr., 54, of Manchester. Kurzov’s vehicle then slammed head-on with another northbound vehicle driven by Nina Mooney, 51, also of Manchester.
Rescue crews transported Kurzov and a passenger, Tatiana Nemirovskaya, 32, of Jersey City, New Jersey, to Southern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington. Their injuries were described as non-life threatening. Fortunately, there were no other injuries reported as a result of the three-vehicle car accident.
The Stratton car accident is still under investigation by local authorities. There was no indication as to what caused Mr. Kurzov to lose control of his vehicle. However, he was cited for unreasonable and imprudent speed for conditions and hazards.
This is an unfortunate incident and we wish all the victims a speedy recovery during this difficult time.
