Colchester Car Accident Allegedly Involves Distracted Driver
A Colchester car accident involving three vehicles sends one woman to the hospital after a distracted driver slams into the rear of another vehicle. The incident took place at approximately 5:30 PM on Wednesday afternoon, March 2, 2011, along Vermont 15.
According to Colchester police, a man became distracted along Vermont 15 and rear-ended a vehicle that came to a stop in front of him. The force of the impact sent the second vehicle into another vehicle in which an Essex woman was injured.
Rescue crews from St. Michael’s College Rescue transported the female victim to Fletcher Allen Health Care where she was treated for injuries sustained in the car accident. The extent of her injuries was not immediately made known. Police did not release the identities of those involved in the crash.
The three-vehicle Colchester car accident is still under investigation by local authorities. There was no immediate information as to the cause of the crash. Police indicted that driver attention appeared to be a contributing factor leading to the wreck. There were no criminal charges filed.
