Bean Bag Recall
Ace Bayou Corp., of New Orleans, LA has issued a recall for 2.2 million bean bag chairs following the suffocation death of two children. These chairs do not contain the industry standard disabled zippers, an oversight that has allowed two children to open the bags, crawl inside, and suffocate on the plastic pellet stuffing.
This voluntary recall includes products sold by Bon-Ton, Meijer, Pamida, School Specialty, Wayfair, Walmart, and Amazon before July of 2013. Included in this recall are all round bean bag chairs in 30, 32, and 40 inch diameter along with an L-shaped chair that measures 18 inches wide by 30 inches high. These chairs were sold in all variety of colors and contain “ACE BAYOU CORP” on a tag sewn into their cover seams
