Feds Consider Criminal Charges Against GM
The Justice Department is considering charging GM with criminal wire fraud following the company’s failure to take swift and decisive action even after being made aware of potentially fatal ignition switch defects. Linked to more than 100 deaths, ignition switch defects were known about by GM long before any recall action was taken. The DOJ will determine if criminal charges should be filed following completion of its probe into this issue.

Criminal vs. Civil Lawsuits
Criminal convictions come with fines, jail time, and other serious consequences. They do not, however, do anything to reimburse families who have suffered losses due to negligence. In order to get fair compensation for your damages, you need an experienced product liability lawyer on your side.
