Two ATV Accidents over the Weekend Result in Serious Injury

New Hampshire Fish and Game officers responded to two ATV crashes over Fourth of July weekend. Both occurring on Sunday, one of these accidents involved ejection and the other a rollover. Causes these two serious ATV accidents are still under investigation.

ATVs are infamously dangerous. In 2014, the last year for which full statistics are available, there were 93,700 injuries and 385 fatalities caused by ATV accidents. An alarming 23% of these involve children under the age of 16. In Vermont, the minimum age requirement to operate an ATV is 12. In New Hampshire it is 14. Neither of this past weekend’s ATV crashes involved minors.
