Route 101 Crash Injures Teens
A car accident on Route 101 in Hampton on Sunday, June 19th, has resulted in serious injuries to one teen and minor injuries to two others. The accident involved two vehicles – one with three teens and a young adult, and one with a single young adult driver – and is suspected to have been caused by distracted driving. The crash is still under investigation, but so far state police have only cited “driver inattention” as a possible contributing factor.
Driver inattention, distracted driving, driving while doing, whatever you choose to call it, not paying attention to the road is a serious and all too often fatal behavior. A leading cause of car accidents, distraction injures and kills more people than drunk driving every year and, as our love affair with all things electronic continues, new forms of distraction are becoming apparent on a weekly basis. Your best defense? Paying attention. It’s really the only way you can protect yourself and others from the dangers posed by the alternative.
Victims of distracted drivers are entitled to seek compensation well in excess of the offers made by insurance companies. Knowing this, you may be surprised at how quickly you are offered an insurance settlement. Before you accept a settlement – no matter how large it may seem – it is best to discuss your options with one of our New Hampshire car accident lawyers and learn what your case is really worth.
