New North End Police Chase Ends in Crash
After watching a driver run through several stop signs in the Cedar and Rose Street area, police began a pursuit that would wend through the Old North End and end with a crash at Ethan Allen Park in the New North End. The pursuit did not stop with the crash however, but continued through the park on foot until officers were able to subdue the driver a short time later. The driver was evading police in an attempt to avoid his fourth DUI charge. Fortunately, no one was hurt during his reckless and thoughtless spree.
This drunk driver was apprehended before he could cause harm to others, but similarly inebriated drivers are the cause of more than a quarter of all fatal car accidents in our state every year.
