Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Explosions
As of September 17th, Samsung has received 92 complaints of overheating or exploding batteries in its new Galaxy Note 7. Of these, 26 have resulted in burn injury – one serious enough to warrant a law suit – and 55 have resulted in damage to property, including a car and a garage. In the first lawsuit related to overheating Galaxy Note 7s, the plaintiff argues that he sustained serious burns when the phone exploded in his pocket. If you have suffered a similar injury, our New Hampshire product liability attorneys encourage you to call (603) 556-4148 to schedule a free consultation and learn more about your rights.
Samsung issued a voluntary recall of the Galaxy Note 7 a few weeks ago. The company also created a software patch that helps prevent overheating of the battery, but severely limits battery life. An official recall was issued for the product on September 15th. If you own a Galaxy Note 7, we strongly urge you to return it for a safer and more trustworthy device.
Samsung knew of the dangers posed by this phone for weeks before taking official action. This irresponsible behavior has needlessly placed thousands of men and women in danger of serious or even life-threatening burns.
